Edwin Wright aka “The Chef” started his radio career in the mid 80’s at WMCJ, a local station in Moncks Corner, SC. He acted as the music director and host of Afternoon Drive and hosted an award-winning sports show with NFL running back and former McDonald’s owner Rolland Harper.

Later, Edwin was recruited to the Charleston radio market by the late Jessie Williams and legend Clyde Jones. There, he was promoted to program director and AM Drive, then general manager (WZJY). After the sale of the station, Edwin took over an afternoon slot at WJNI, then Heaven FM, serving the community with shows like “Stop the Madness, Stop the Violence.” He teamed up with the city of Charleston and former Mayor Riley, hosted “Skate Night with Pizza Hut and Coca-Cola” and served on the community panel of North Charleston as Dept. Co-founder of “It’s Cool to Stay in School” just to name a few.
