Chef Interviews: Principal Henry Darby,
North Charleston High School Principal & National Headline-Maker

Principal Darby has been getting more national recognition than the average high school principal. Since taking a part-time job at a local Walmart three nights a week to help raise money – over $2,500 so far – for North Charleston High School low-income students, word of his selfless act quickly spread. In the past month, Principal Darby has been interviewed by national news outlets across the country, including the TODAY Show, and Walmart has since donated $50,000 to his school.

The Chef is the first Lowcountry radio host to get an interview with Principal Darby. Hear them discuss changes in the culture at Principal Darby’s high school and the attention his quiet act of service has brought to local education and income disparities.
