“There are times when I’m discouraged by my own community… But I believe in the Lord Jesus as my Savior and I know that, in due time, He will always make it right. ‘Cause He says, ya know – and David said it – ‘I’ve never seen the the righteous forsaken.’ He said that. And I’ve been living in this world for 55 years. And that’s true, I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken.”
– North Charleston Chief Police Chief Reggie Burgess

Heaven’s The Chef has a fireside chat with good friend and community servant North Charleston Police Chief Reginald L. Burgess or, as locals know him, “Reggie.” Chief Burgess and Chef have a personal chat about Chief Burgess’ faith, North Charleston roots, the call to serve, transparency in law enforcement and community support efforts. Addressing recent headlines about law enforcement image, Chief Burgess says, “The reason why we put this uniform on every day, the reason why we get in those cars is because we are there to provide a good quality of living for our citizens. And, most of all, be peaceful about it. Sometimes, we don’t always get it right, but God knows we try. But that’s our initial thought, is to do the right thing.”
