Join the YWCA Greater Charleston’s 2023 MLK Celebration
Sunday, Jan. 8 – Monday, Jan. 16 | Various Locations

The celebration in Charleston in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is the largest in South Carolina, and one Charleston’s longest running events. The Holy City was one of the first in the nation to have a tribute to Dr. King.

That tradition continues this year as the YWCA of Greater Charleston hosts the 2023 MLK Celebration. Included in this year’s schedule:

  • MLK Area Worship Service | 4 PM Sunday, January 8 | Emmanuel Baptist Church of James Island
  • MLK Breakfast Summit | 7 AM Thursday, January 12 | Charleston Gaillard Center
  • MLK Ecumenical Service | 4 PM Sunday, January 15 | Charity Missionary Baptist Church
  • MLK Day Parade | 10:30 AM Monday, January 16 | Downtown; live on WCBD News 2 (this year’s parade will be an in-person event for the first time in two years!)

Information for any and all of these events is available on the YMCA Greater Charleston website.
