“Exposing Our Secret Enemies” (Nehemiah 4)
Pastor Jan Perkins| Fishers by Faith Ministries

“The believer has to overcome opposition. You may not want to deal with it, but you got to overcome it now. Sometimes we want the promises of God without going through anything. I’m going to tell you, you’re going to have to go through some things.”

Today, Pastor Jan Perkins continues his lesson in Nehemiah 4, using the exposure of Nehemiah’s enemies who secretly despised the progress he was making on rebuilding the wall to point out how we, as Christians, can also persist despite facing enemies we can’t always identify. “This is why, as the believer, you’re going to have to have the Holy Ghost. Because if you have a secret enemy, how are you going to identify them? You can’t identify them in the flesh, the only way you’re going to identify them is in the Spirit.” Listen as Pastor Perkins encourages us with the reminder of God’s presence and inevitable victory over all opposition: “You might have some opposition, but ain’t nothing about God changed. He’s still sitting on the throne and He’s looking down on His children… After a while, God is going to expose the enemy. You can try to dress it up and talk it up and fix it up, but after a while, God’ll expose that thing.”
