“Secret Enemies” (Nehemiah 4)
Pastor Jan Perkins| Fishers by Faith Ministries

“If the enemy can’t stop you with intimidation, he’ll try to discourage you with false words.”

Today, Pastor Jan Perkins continues his lesson in the book of Nehemiah. Using the example of the opposition Nehemiah came up against once he started making progress rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, told in Nehemiah 4, he warns us about Satan’s tactic of discouraging Christians from doing the Lord’s work – secret enemies, that only manifest with time. “The enemy don’t mind you playing church. He don’t mind you acting crazy or doing foolish stuff. But when you start to do a work from God, it grieved him. Because Satan is the accuser of the brethren. And he don’t wanna see the people of God go forward,” Pastor Perkins says. Listen as he warns us to stay on guard against Satan’s more subtle methods for keeping us from being effective for God: “Some of ya’ll don’t know you got secret enemies. They just ain’t manifested yet… and if you give it a little time, whatever’s in the heart, it’s gonna come out the mouth.”
