“Focus on Prayer, Not on the Enemy” (Nehemiah 4:8-9)
Pastor Jan Perkins| Fishers by Faith Ministries
“But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.”
– Nehemiah 4:8-9
Today, Pastor Jan Perkins continues his sermon on persistence through adversity in Nehemiah 4 by addressing the perceived obstacles Christians often allow to prevent them from doing God’s will. “So, what Nehemiah had to do in verses 8 and 9, he had to pray! And see a lot of ya’ll don’t get nowhere ’cause you don’t have no prayer life,” he says. “Instead of focusing on your enemy, you need to learn how to pray.” Listen as Pastor Perkins refocuses our attention from the distraction of our enemies to the regular, expectant prayer that can not only remove our fear, but the obstacle itself.
