“Overcoming Opposition” (Nehemiah 2:1-8)
Pastor Jan Perkins| Fishers by Faith Ministries

“God strategically put you in the position you’re in for such a time as this. Don’t let the enemy fool you and make you think the position you’re in is not worthy. Yes, it is. But you’ve got to ask God ‘Ok, Lord, what do you I need to do in this position?'”

Today, Pastor Jan Perkins encourages us on overcoming opposition in our lives using the story of Nehemiah’s request of the king to be allowed to return to Jerusalem to repair the destruction that had taken place (Nehemiah 2:1-8). “Anytime you want to do something for God, God will speak to you and give you the information you need to get the job done,” Pastor Perkins says. Listen as he sums Nehemiah’s role and God’s role in accomplishing Nehemiah’s vision: “Nehemiah was taking a chance because he knew the king had authority… God gave Nehemiah favor with the king to go back and to rebuild the walls. But he had to take a chance to go before the king and to ask him… Even though we might have opposition, we got favor from God. See, any time you got opposition, know that the favor of God is on your side. Because God strategically put Nehemiah in that position for such a time as that.”
