Air Date: Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022
“What can be done to offset what keeps underperforming schools underperforming?” This week, The Chef sits down with two good friends, Rev. Eric Mack of Charleston County School District and returning guest Brother Nizar, to discuss how to resolve some of the notorious disparities in the South Carolina public education system. The guys also discuss how the $249 million local schools have access via the COVID Relief Fund can be allocated to offset the “learning losses” sustained as a result of school cancellations during the pandemic and how school choice and so called “public-private schools” affects the allocation of resources to underperforming schools.
