This week, in his ongoing series on the Gifts of the Spirit, Pastor Kevin Brown dives into on “the gift of the word of knowledge.” He begins by defining the word “gift” as coming from the Greek word charisma, which is a favor with which one receives without any merit of his own, the gift of divine grace or grace or gifts denoting extraordinary power. He also defines the gift of the word of knowledge as “dealing with that which exists, whether it be in the past or in the present.” Pastor Brown uses 1 Samuel 10 and John 4, starting in verse 7, to illustrate times when the wisdom of God evidenced themselves in the lives of Samuel and Jesus.
