The City of North Charleston has established a new website – www.onenorthcharleston.com. The site is for a new project the city is undertaking, One North Charleston. Tim Macholl, the North Charleston Director of Planning and Zoning explained the purpose behind the website and the new project that is dealing with how the city is updating its zoning and development rules. This is critical for residents and businesses, as North Charleston continues to experience rapid growth. Macholl explained what zoning is, as well as providing a definition of a subdivision and why this is important to city residents. Macholl connected the changes contained in the Unified Development Ordinance to the City of North Charleston’s ongoing Comprehensive Long Range Plan.
