“As Many as Received” (Matthew 7:21-23, John 1:12)
Apostle Bernard Whaley | Faith in Action Kingdom Ministries

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21) This week, Apostle Bernard Whaley highlights an often overlooked requirement of the true children of God – a resulting change in how we live our lives. Apostle Whaley qualifies, “Jesus is saying that God has extended His mercy to us, dying human beings. And he’s extended it in such a way that if we accept His son, then he will give us the authority and the power we need to defeat sin in the flesh. John 1 says, ‘But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.'” (John 1:12) Listen as Apostle Whaley highlights the step the world misses in that equation: “For some reason, we have misinterpreted it to say that if we just believe, we can continue to do whatever we want to do and we’ll make it into heaven.”
