“They Had Heard” (Luke 17:11-17)
Apostle Bernard Whaley | Faith in Action Kingdom Ministries

“And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?.” (Luke 17:11-17)

“The Bible says ‘faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.’ …These men recognized that Jesus was of God. And so, when He spoke, all they did was follow instructions.” This week, Apostle Bernard Whaley drops us in on an exchange between Jesus and a colony of 10 lepers in Luke 17, whom He heals, but only one returns to praise Him. Listen as Apostle Whaley diagnoses the problem standing between many Christians and effectiveness and blessing – simply listening and following instructions: “This is our greatest struggle today: in just following the instructions God has given us. I’d like to tell my people, pay attention and follow instructions. Because, when we pay attention and follow instructions, we will get the blessings of the Lord.”
