“Who Told You That?” (Genesis 3:1-19)
Apostle Bernard Whaley | Faith in Action Kingdom Ministries

“Who told you were naked?” (Genesis 3:11) This week, Apostle Bernard Whaley quotes from the familiar passage recounting Adam and Eve’s original sin, with particular emphasis on God’s dialogue with them after He finds them hiding in The Garden. “Our greatest struggle as a body of Christ is knowing who we are. I believe that we suffer from identity theft,” Apostle Whaley says. “Adam and Eve were naked all the time in The Garden. They never had any need for clothing because they were not ashamed – they had nothing to be ashamed of… But the moment they ate of The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they became aware of themselves. And when you become aware of yourself, there’s shame in the game.” Listen as Apostle Whaley explains how Satan uses shame as a tool for “getting us to back down” and how God’s grace is the antidote.
