“The Need to Encourage Yourself” (1 Samuel 30:1-6)
Rev. Dr. Isaac Holt, Jr. | Royal Missionary Baptist Church

Every Christian will have seasons in which they must endure. This week, Rev. Dr. Isaac Holt, Jr. preaches on the value and necessity of longsuffering. Pastor Holt reminds us of how David must have felt, after his anointing and was fleeing for his life from King Saul (1 Samuel 30:1-6): “We don’t want to go through the season or the type of climate that produces that particular fruit – longsuffering.” But he exhorts us, “Church, there will be times even the child of God need to endure suffering for a long time. Some levels of joy that are not seen by the natural eye, some spiritual manifestations that are reserved for those who truly trust God a lot – you will never experience or never reach until you have some of this fruit in your mental basket. That fruit called longsuffering There are some things that God has for you, but won’t get to it until you’re able to hang in there when other people let go.” Listen as Pastor Holt explains God’s process and purpose in that kind of suffering, saying, “You cannot be perfected to accomplish your highest purpose until you have learned to endure through longsuffering without losing faith until you come out of what you’re going through.” We believe God with you that God is about to speak a word that is especially for you.
