“Trusting God in Tough Times” (Deut. 8:1)
Rev. Dr. Isaac Holt, Jr. | Royal Missionary Baptist Church

This week, Rev. Dr. Isaac Holt, Jr. preaches on Moses’ last words to the children of Israel after they wandered in the desert for 40 years and the next generation was preparing to take the Promised Land. Deut. 8:2 says “And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart.” As Pastor Holt says, “God wants to reveal what’s in your heart. Whether, in the wilderness, you will keep His commandments or not.” Pastor Holt uses Moses’ message to the Israelites to emphasize two things: 1) That God allows tough times for a reason and 2) That how we respond matters. We believe God with you that God is about to speak a word that is especially for you.
